MINUTESOP THE MAYO BAPTIST ASSOCIATION, HELD AT FLAT SHOAL AND RUSSELL’SCHEEK CHURCHES, 1871.PLAT 8HOAL CHURCH, ) Stoke* County, N. C., May 19th, 1877. j The Association met according to appointment- The introductory sermon was delivered by Elder Levi I. Boder.hamcr, from Romans, 9th chapter, 11th, 12th, 13th versos : “For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, hot of him that calleth, it was said unto her. The elder shall serve the younger. It is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I bated ” After which the Asao-oiatiou met in council.After singing, and prayer by Elder G W Kelly, the following letters were read sod received, and the names of ministers and messengers were enrolled, vis:CHURCHES. Gold were chosen to preach on tomorrow; and Elders 8. J. Lackey, James M. Blanoet, and M. D. Hill were choseu to preach on Monday.Appointed for worship to commence to-morrow by 10 o’clock, and for the Association to meet Monday morning by 9 o’clock. Then dismissed in order.
