Displaying the new Carson Fire Truck last Friday afternoon were Fire Chief Bruce Damgaard shaking hands with Walt Keast of Davenport Motors in Oakland, Assistant Chief Marlin Allen, Lowell Phillips and Monte Isaacson.CARSON FIRE DEPT SHOWS OFF THEIRNEW TRUCKThursday, January 30, the Carson Fire Department received their new fire truck. The truck chasis was purchased from Davenport Motors in Oakland. The chassis was then sent to Smeal FireTruck Company in Snyder, Nebraskawhere the fire apparatus was manutac tured and mounted on the chassis. These two companies were selected from sealedbids.With the community’s contributions and support it makes it possible to continueto update our firefighting equipment and provide firefighters with the best knowledge on fire protection.Upcoming fund raisers are Las Vegas Night, February 15, Carson Legion Hall and the annual Firemans Dance is March 15, Carson legion Hall.If you are interested in taking a look at the new fire truck, contact any volunteer fireman and they would be happy to show it off.
