SWBT resources showed a 22 percent gain of $4,084,-682.60, from $19,000,883.06 in 1964, to $23,-085,565.66 in 1965.First National Bank of Irving showed a $724,427.57, or 25 percent rise in deposits, from $2,862,686.76 to $3,587,1 14.33, and in resources went from $3,513,536.30 to $4,167,766.51, a 19 percent increase of $654,230.21 .First Federal Savings and Loan of Irving also reflected a substantial growth, which showed theirtotal savings jump from $12,444,309.30 to $16,-71 8,362.94--a 34 percept rfse of $4,274,053.64. In assets, f irst Federal added 34 percent, or$5,010,162.09 to their 1964 figure of $14,91 9,781.90 for a 1965 total of $19,929,943.99.Also showing a nice gain was Irving Savings and Loan, which added 14 percent, or $780,275 to their savings of $5,770,189, bringing 1965’s total to $6,550,404. Glovar, l^one Star’s Irving district manager.“The rapid growth of Irving is no accident. It is the inevitable result of factors inherent in Irving’s' location , transportation facilities, availability of natural gas, and farsighted vision of a progressive Chamber of Commerce, alert civic and business organizations and a warm, friendly population,” said Mr, Glover.“Irving’s growth and Lone Star’s growth are inseparable,” Mr. Glover added. “InDecember, 1946, there were 486 meters in place in tie city, each meter representing an averageof 3.5 customers. Four years later, the total had increasedalmost seven times to 3,314 meters. Ten years ago Lone Star had 3,621 meters in placeas the expansion of population, business and industry continuedVto accelerate.”The pace is continuing today.Lone Star has 18,969 meters in place with an estimated 1,127 meters to be added in 1966.Irvirg is Lone Star Gas Company’s fieadquarters for its Irving Distribution District, consisting ofGrapevine, Keller, Roanoke ai d Coppell inadditior to Irving. It also is headquarters for a pipeline department and a construction department of Lone Star’s Transmission Division.
