Mrs. Geneva Hatfield of Ames was a Sunday dinner guest of Mrs. Lillian Strait. Mr. and Mrs. Rich ard Fatland and family of Alden were weekend guests. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Henning and Terry of Maxwell, Mr. and Mrs. George Edwards were Sunday din ner guests in the Garlock-King home. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Rumbaugh of Mingo were Sunday visitors in the Mrs. Cora Spooner home. Mrs. W. R. De Young and Nancy of Des Moines were Satur day callers in the Paul Tomlinson home. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Thomas of Nashua were Monday visitors. Mr. and Mrs. John Dyer were Monday guests in the L. N. Nest home at Madrid. Mrs. Kermit Griffith and Mrs. Lillian Strait were Sunday coffee guests in the John Harker home. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Tomlinson, Treva and Bruce were Wednesday visitors in the Richard Boyd home in Ames. Mrs. Monte Lesker and Terry spent Tuesday in the home of her parents Mr .and Mrs. Edward Gill at Ames. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Erickson and family of Maxwell were Thursday visitors in the George Erickson home. Mrs. Harvey Weatherman Jr. and Jimmy were Sunday dinner guests in the home of her parents Mr. and Ms. Raleigh Rumbaugh, Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Dahl of Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Carsrud of Nevada were Friday dinner guests in the A. N. Dahl home. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lough and Harry Lough visited Mrs. Ella Lough at the Story County Hospit al in Nevada on Monday. Mrs. Opal Harrison and Mrs. Norma Van Horn who have been patients in the Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines the past week were able to return to their respective homes Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Harrison and family of La Grand were Saturday visitors of his mother, Mrs. Opal Harrison. Mrs. Cora Griffith of Maxwell spent the weekend with her sister, Mrs. Ida Griffith. Mrs. Charles Stowe entertained at a party honoring the 10th birth day of her daughter Cindy. Guests were the girls from her class at school. Games were enjoyed and prizes awarded. Lunch of cup cakes, ice cream cones, cocoa and marshmellows were served. The honoree received many nice gifts. Mrs. Cora Spooner was pleas antly surprised on Jan. 13 in honor of her 76th birthday when relatives and friends brought and served a potluck dinner. Those present were Mrs. Ada Spooner, Mrs. Ila Canney, Mrs. Pearl Cory, Mrs. Alva Kendig, Mrs. Vera Cory, Mrs. Dick Dyer and Kathryn of Elkart, Mrs. Emma Hutchin of Bondurant, Mrs. Marlowe Menhall of Mingo, Mrs. Agnes Rumbaugh, Mrs. Lillian Hennesey, Mrs. Carroll Rum baugh, Brian and Laurie of Mingo, Mrs. Raleigh Rumbaugh and Christine and Jimmy Weatherman. Butter need not be contami nated with yeast, mold or coli form organisms in a wooden churn providing the churn is in sanitary condition, says A. W. Rudack of Iowa State University.
