Mrs. Vern Morrill and daughter Annette were visitors in Ft. Dodge Saturday. Mrs. Anna Wessels, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Wessels and children,Mr. and Mrs. John Peters and family and Mrs. Mary Peters were Sunday guests at the Merle Barkema and Hans Barkema homes at Jewel. Mrs. M. A. Hansen and Mrs. Edna Hansen visited Rev. and Mrs. Paul Johnson and got acquainted with the new son, Friday. Edward Hansen, Frank Beneke and Floyd McCain were business callers in Fort Dodge Friday. Mrs. John Wilts was hostess to several ladies at her home Monday afternoon in honor of Mrs. Jose phine Meeks birthday. The honoree received a cash gift. Mrs. Wm. Thiesen was a caller in Pomeroy Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Wessels, Eldon Arends and Donald Reiter attended a D-X meeting and dinner at the Ridotto Thursday. Rev. Paul Johnson and son Larry of Pomeoy were dinner guests at the M. A. Hansen home Wednesday. Mrs. W. Ferrand and Ialene and Mrs. Anderson of Manson and Mrs. Marvin Gerbracht and son Jerry of Somers were guests in the F. E. Helmer home Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Gerdes of Pomeroy were Sunday visitors in the Wenzel Zeman home. Mr. and Mrs. John Wilts were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Peters of near Pomeroy Sunday. The Birthday Club surprised Mrs. Earl Johnson at her home Monday evening. Mrs. D. J. Nolan and Mrs. Floyd McCain were hostesses. The honoree received a cash gift. Raymond Collins is ill with the chicken pox, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Alrichan a family visited in the Pete. Peters home at Emmetsburg Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Schoon and Carolyn and Mrs. R. Schoon and Fred were Sunday dinner guests at the Andy Schoon home. F. F E. Helmer was a business call er in Des Moines Wednesday. Anton_Larson, Sr., and Jim Col lins were Pocahontas callers Wed nesday. Mrs. Jess Speckman of Fort Dodge is visiting in the home of her sister, Mrs. Leslie Lewis. Lowell Beneke went to Des Moines the first of last week to take an examination for aerial pho tography service. Superintendent, and Mrs. Frank Ralston drove to Battle Creek Wed nesday evening to get Miss Olive Masters, a sister of Mrs. Ralston. Miss Masters teachers school at Battle Creek but due to so many cases of influenza school was dis missed there. Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Swalin re turned home from Des Moines Thursday evening where the form er attended a grain dealers meet ing several days. Mr. Don Sinclair and daughter Phyllis were visitors in West Bend Sunday.
