on UPL James L. Hamilton is confined to his nome by an attack of pleurisy. Frank Thomas of this city spent Thursday in Indianapolis on busi ness. Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Allan and two children are confined to their home on West Walnut street by an at tack of influenza. Paul Sinclair, the twelve-year-old son of Joan Sinclair, who resides east of this city, is seriously ill of pneumonia. Rupert Krenz, who has been ill of inflammatory rheumatism for several weeks, is slowly improving. Word has been received here by Mr. and Mrs. George Hinton that Mrs. Earl Hinton is seriously ill of pneu monia, also that Mrs Frank Hinton, who husband is taking treatment at the Methodist hospital, in Indiana polis, is in the Methodist hospital ill of pneumonia. The home of Mrs. N. C. O'Hair, who left Thursday to spend several day with Mrs. Alice Ader Davis and Miss Lawrie Davis in Peru, Ind., was entered Thursday evening by burg lars and several things were taken, including money and jewelry. No arrests have been made. Judge James P. Hughes is in Leb anon serving as special judge in the Boone County Circuit Court. The Women’s Club will meet Sat. ‘urdey afternoon at 2:30 at the home of Miss Martha Ridpath on East Sem inary street, Mrs. Huestis will have the work, her subject being, “The ‘Three Young Octogenerians.’ Con versation will read by Mrs. J. L. Ran del, Sister Charlotte, an instructor in the Catholic school in this city is ill of pneumonia. Albert Howard, the ten-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Levi Howard, who reside on West Seminary street, is ill of pneumonia. Muriel Alspaugh, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Alspaugh, who re side on North Madison street, is ser iously ill of tuberculosis, ‘Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Toney, who reside near Barnaby's mill are the parents of a baby girl, Vivian Pauline, born this morning, Prof. H. G. Gough of DePauw Un iversity addresed the members of the Parent-Teachers’ Club of the First Warg at their meeting this afternoon, Prof. Gough gave a most interesting talk which was greatly appreciated by the members of the club. The afternoon session was made more en joyable by a reading by Miss Kersey, Rev. H. C Clippenger is in Indiana polis for the day- The Epworth League service at a College Avenue church, Sunday eve ning, will be of unusual interest, Wil bur Grose will speak on the topic: “Prevention is Better Than Cure.’ There will also be special musical numbers: Be there at six thirty. There will be a meeting of the Big Pype Poland China Association In the county agent's office at the court house at 1:30 o'clock Saturday after noon, Mrs. Forrest Cooper, who has been ill for several days of influenza, is, much improved today. Harold Knoll and Paul Jackson have treurned from Detroit with two new Dodge cars. One of the cars, was delivered to Perry Hasty today, who resides northwest of this city, Mrs. Roscoe Zaring, who resides south of this city, has gone to In dianapolis to be with her mother, Mr. Henry Shopple, who recently entered the Deaconess hospital for treatment. Mrs. Shopple, who has been ill for several weeks, is in a serious con dition.
