The barroom of the Prescott hotel was the scene of a bold hold up Thursday morning at about 5:30 o'clock, when Frank Grabb, the bartender, and Thomas Taylor, the porter, elevated their hands at the point of an ugly looking 45- calibre gun in the hands of an unknown man. The trick was turned in a jifly and both men were caught unaware, the place having been entered from the rear door. The robber was masked with a piece of white cloth over his face, while on his person was seen a light raincoat that hung to below his knees. His actions indicated that he was an amateur at the game, and this was verified later when, after getting his hands into the cash register, he deemed it prudent to get away after taking but a small amount of the cash on hand. In his flight he dropped a ten-dollar bill, and it is believed the total sum stolen would not ex ceed $15. Had the robber made a better job, the right hand side of the register would have afforded him quite a sum to remunerate him for his work, but this recep tacle was overlooked and the house quit quite a winner under the cir cumstances.
