A Well-Known Base Ball Magnate Passes Away. Philadelphia, Feb. J.—After an ill news of less than 4 week Harry WH. Diddlebock, Known in local sporting and newspaper circles, died today at his home in this city. Death was primarily due to a heavy cold cons tructed last Monday night. ‘This de veloped into erysipelas, which he tacked the heart. Mr. Diddlebock wos 46 veara of ace. His first venture In the bare ballina was as manager of the famous old Athletics, and later he served through successive years as president, scre tary and treasurer of the Eastern Hasebiall league. As a sporting writ er he occupled positions in nearly all of the focal newspaper offices until 189%, when he removed to St. Louis and assumed the management of the £. Louis hateball team. He returned a year later and up to his death was on the staff of the Inquirer.
