Also a child of Peter Mosel, jr., two months old, was buried on the same day, at the cemetery at the Mentzer church.The Republican editors and speakers have many times told us that if ever the Democrats get the power they will divide Texas into four states. Now if the Democrats fail to divide said state some of our Republican editors will be false prophets. If said state is ever divided I will suggest that sister Belva be appointed Governor over the unsettled one-fourth, and that all the judges be females, that the sheriffs and all the county officers be females, that the supervisors and all township officers be females, that all juries to try criminal cases be females, and if said sister makes a grand success in one state or territory then she will have good reason to urge Congress to grant the right to vote and hold office to the ladies in other states. If said sister would fail to organize and maintain a civil and respectable government in a new state, she would not be entitled to sit at the head of the government in one of the older states.
