January 19,1864*■ Beard met pursuant to adjournment.Present, .Messrs Hayden, Lippert, Rosebeck, gchuette, H C West anti Kern. ✓Mr. Kern in the chair.On motion of Mr. Lippert the reading of the minutes of the prerious session was dispensed with.A petition of Mary Ann Knox, presented by Mr. Rosebeck, was, on motion, referred to the committee on taxes.Sundry accounts were presented and, on motion, ' appropriately referred .Mr. S C West moved to reconsider the rote taken yesterday, disallowing the following accounts, no-wit:Hr J E Garner, medical services, $10“ « 8« « sWhich motion prevailed.On motion said accounts were re-referred to the committee on poor department.The committee on printing, to whom was referred the account of Moritz Schoeffier, amounting to $20, reported in favor of allowing the same as charged. Which report was agreed to.The committee on miscellaneous accounts, to whom wag referred the account- of C H Orton, amounting to $2 75, reported in favor of allowing the seme as charged.Which report wasiadopted by the board.The committee -da justice’s and constable’s ae: counts, to whom was referred the following accounts reported in favor of allowing the game as follows, to-wit: ;F T Zetteler, $12 49« Roth, 3 4-SWhich report was adopted.The same committe, to whom was referred the account of Peter Roth, J H Lippert and others,for constable and juror‘8 fees, charged at $27 94, reported adverse to its allowance for want of affidavit.Which was concurred in by the board.The committee on. taxes, to whom was referred the petition of Mary Ann Knox, reported the same back without action, to. the board.On motion of Mr. Stemper the further consideration of said petition was indefinitely postponed.The committee on sheriff’s and coronerts accounts, •to whom was referred the following accounts, reported in faTor of allowing the same as charged.Kelson Webster, $1,478 43“ 319 50Which report was adopted by the board.Mr. if 0 West, from the Select committee on boun-ties to voi ad teens, pru sen ted and Tead the bill for an act entitled an act to empower the eoo.nty of Milwaukee to raise money for rihe payment of bounties to volunteers, said bill being so amended as to authorize- the board of supervisors to issue bonds for said purpose to an amount not exceeding one hundred thousand dollars,,said bonds to be exclusively applied to the paj-went of bounties to volunteers mustered into the United States service and credited to the quota of Milwaukee county, at the rate not c-xceediug one hundred dollars for each of such volunteers, also with a further amendment providing that such bonds shall be registered in the office of the county treasurer, instead register of deeds. ' •Which bill bo amended was concurred in by the board.Whereupon Mr. Schuette offered the following res-elution:Resolved*-That the clerk of this board is hereby instructed to cause a sufficient number of copies of the bill for an act to enable the county of Milwaukee to raise money for the payment of bounties to volunteers as -amended, printed and transmit one copy Of said bill to each of our representatives in the legislature of this state, informing them of the desire of this bocrd that said bill may become a law as soon as possible.VWMl l*nC n f i ttoc Ant Vi*» 4Ua V
