Kern In the chairJlr 9 P Coon, the district attorney, being' present* Mr. 3chuotte moved tnat Mr. Coon be requ cstcd to express his opinion as to the power of tho board raising money for the payment of bounties to volunteers tinder the provisions of tho law an that sub-jecfc, passed by the legislature at Its extra i^sion in 1862.Which was adopted.Whereon the district attorney made a 7erbal statement as to themeritJ of “-aid law, and expressed his views In relation to the most practicably and expedient plan to raise such money.When Mr. 3 0 West offered the following resolution.Resolved, .That this ho^d are in favor of providing means by which a bounty of dollar* maybe offered for Tolunceers to HU the tjuoca of this county. ~Mr 3 C West moved to 811 the blank in the forgoing resolution with the amount of two hundred dollars.Which was adopted unanimously.The blank being so filled said resolution was adopted by the board.Mr. 3chuetto offered the following resolution:Resolved, That a special committee be appointed by the chair, who, ia connection with the county treasurer, be and Is hereby Instructed to confer with the several bankers of this city, to ascertain whether a sufficient amount of money can be obtained by is-jiuing'bonda under the net of the legislature, passed in tbo extra session of 1362, authorising boards of supervisors: to raise money for the payment of bounties to volunrecrsj also to confer with tho district attorney as to tho proper form of such bonds.Which resolution was adopted by the hoard.The chair appointed Messrs rfcliuette, i C Wc3t and ltosebeck as such committee.Mr. Stcmper moved a re-consideration of tao following resolutions adopted yesterday:Resolved, That a select committee of three be appointed hy the chair to examine and investigate tin* books, accounts and vouchers in the office of the superintendents of the poor, and that the clerk of the board is hereby requested co assist said committee in their labors.Resolved further, That the appointment of the two superintendents of the poor in and for the city of Milwaukee for the ensuing year is hereby postponed until said committee has completed their investigation and made their report to 2ii.i board.Which was carried.Mr.’3temper moved to amend the first r^soiuvloa by inserting after the words ^superintendents of the poor” tho following : l*forthe Last two years.”Wrhich amendment was concurred in by che board.Mr. Schaette moved to amend 3.iid resolutions by striking out the whole of the second resolution postponing the election of the two 3 iper:ntenden:j of the poor in and for the city*of Milwaukee.
