C-Weet.Mr. Kern in the chair.On motion of Mr. Schuette the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was dispensed wi^h.The annual report of Dr VII Day, county physician, presented by Mr. Koseb* ek, was, after being reHd, on motion, ordered to be ptaccdon file.The petition cf A Loveland, J B Hart and others, citisensof the town of Wauwatosa, urging the reappointment of Andrew Sullivan for superintendent of the poor, was, after being read, ordered to be filed with the derk.The committee on the office of the clerk of the municipal court submi’ted the following report:Tho committee on the office of the cferk of the municipal court, to whom was referred the communication of F Kueho, city comptroller, with, statement of expenditures for salaries, etc., for the municipal court, and also statement of fines and penalties collected and paid orer to (be city, bare bad the same under examination and respectfully report: Tbat they find section 23 ol this law creating the municipal court provides that all fines, penalties and clerk’s fees collected in criminal cases and paid into the city treasury shall be accounted for and paid ovor annually to the county treasurer, at the time of accounting for the state and county taxes by the city treasurer, and tbat the county of Milwaukee- shall annually et the same time account to the city of Milwaukee f*t one-half of the salaries of the municipal judge, clerk, assistant clerk, blanks, stationery, record books, office-furniture. lights and fuel for the municipal court, paid and furnished by said city.The amount claimed by the city is $2,421 18 tbisc •being one-half of the^expenditure* of said municipal court paid by the city. The amount of penal, ties and fines collected by the city for the county, as appears by the comptroller’s report, is £2,199 -30.While your committee eat«rtain no doubt of the correctness of the statements, haring the utmost Confidence In Comptroller Kuohn,. yet believe that, the statement should be verified by affidavit. under that section of the statute which requires-that all accounts, before being allowed by the county board of supervisors, shall be verified by affidavit.
