ae:le Scout Awards Given At FieldaleFieldale, February 5—Three Fieldale youths of Explorer Post 73, Boy ScoutsAmerica were awarded Eagle Scout aWards in ceremonies at Fieldale Methodist Church Sunday evening, February 4 at 7:30 o’clock. Scouts being advanced to Eagle rank were Max White,son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard White; Bill Brymer, son of Mr. and Mrs. George B- Brymer; and Leon Tilley, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Tilley.Mothers of the Eagle Scouts pinned the coveted badges on their sons. E. H. Goode presented miniature Eagle badges to the mothers. Rev. Herman Garroll, pastor of Fieldale Methodist Church was in charge of the service w*th Taylor Ingram, Boy Scout advancement chairman, presiding over the court of honor. Fieldale scout trooo 73 Was in charge of the candle lighting Ceremonies.Principal speaker was M. L. Carp-er superintendent of Martinsville City Schools. H. Z. Smith presented merit badges to members of Troon 73. B. K. divers awarded Second Class badges to Tommy Fly the and Dickie White: S.Flythe presented the Life Scout award to Jaok Coneland..Sam R. Thomas led in the Scoutmaster’s benediction.The three Eagle Scouts have been active in scouting for a number of years, ^hite, 15, took part in the National Jamboree at Valley Forge, Pa., in 1950. ^le attended Camp Powhatan for two Voars. He took training courses at Lee Ford Camp and won a trio to Washirg-th, D. C., in 1948 to participate in the Boy Scout pilgrimage.
