Foreign To Resurrect Mud, MulesIIcJBy a Stajf Correspondent NAPLES, Feb. 4—Snow, mud and mule days will be resurrected in a movie now under production in Italy by the Foreign Films Coipo-xation of New York.Based on the stirring exploits of “little men like ourselves,” according to producer Rod Geiger, the film traces the progress of the Italian campaign from Sicily to the Alps.Tentatively named “Seven Americans,” the film deals with the psychological aspect of relations between American GIs and Italian civilians in Italy.It shows a growing interest in and understanding oi each others problems from the first day Amen- lt;can troops set foot on Italian soil until the close of the Italian campaign.The script was put together with the aid of two former Stars and Stripes correspondents, Wililam De Meza and Klaus Mann. Lead roles include four ex-veterans. J. Anthony Lapenna, of Italian parentage and formerly with a tank destroyer battalion, plays the part of an Italo-American operator who throws in his lot with the partisans.Willlgm C. Tibbs, an ex-sergeant with a mine-laying and coastal defense outfit, plays the role of Chaplain Martin. Recently back from close to four years service, Dale Edwards, one-time combat intelligence sergeant, plays the role of a tank driver.Gar Mcore, a recent newcomer to stage and screen, portrays a shot down pilot. Harriet White, member of the USO “Junior Miss” cast, plays an Army nurse.The film is now under production at Maiori, a fishing village near Salerno. Production is expected to run well into March.
