F'lagstaff took the lead at the tip-off and held it until the end of the half when a long shot by Phoeftix tied the score 24-24. Phoenix made two baskets ifThe start of the list half and jumped in the lead but Flagstaff came back with a rally and began to shoot field goals in from every angle.« When the game ended Tingataff had increased its lead to a very comfort- . able margin and Phoenix brought up the rear on the score of 46-34.Detlof?, Flagstaff center, was high point man, having seven field goals and four free throws. Wilson was next high Flagstaff man with seven field goals and one free throw. Huff, the towering Phoenix forward, made the majority of the pointa for his team, scoring eight field goals and one free throw. Huffs stuff was solved in the third quarter and the Flagstaff guards, Kieren and McClure, kept him so well guarded in the last quarter that he was unable to •core. ' •*'Teachers College Frosh took tha: lead at the start In the game with the Winslow Do Motays and held ft at a safe margin during the entire fame. The score at the end of the first half was 21-4 and the game ended srith the Freshmen having the long end of the score 29-9. ^Flagstaff sgain took the lead at the start of the game with the Normal Univenity of East Las Vegas, but the game was anybody's game until the final whistle was blown at the dose of the extra five minute oeriod that was necessary to play off the 23-23 tie score at the end lha g-nie. Shelansky was forced out of the game early in the second half on account of injuries. In the extra period he was sent back In and the basket he made was responsible for the victory of his team. 23-23.Ditloff was again high point man. having four field goals and two free throws, while Wilson was second with three field goals and two free throws. Hargrove was responsible for fifteen points of the total of 23 made by the New Mexico boys.
