Corner Stone of the New Odd Fellows: Bullying Laved This Afternoon, The Iron Box Placed in the Stone Con tains History of Fayette Lodge and Some Important Data. In the presence of about fifteen members of Fayette Lodge No. 31, [. 0.0. F. such a few spectators, the corner stone of their new lodge build ing was laid this afternoon. The ceremonies attendant upon the occa sion were brief and simple, and were conducted by D. W. Andre, Chair man of the building Committee, and Chaplain C. A. Reiman. The follow ing in the address of D. W. Andre: In this box we have deposited a history of Fayette Lodge No. 31, a history of W. W. Encampment, No 33, and of Emerald KR. D. Lodge, No. 295, a copy of the Sovereign Grand Lodge of U.S., a copy of the Grand Lodge of Indiana, a copy of the Grand En campment of Indiana, the municipal affairs of the city of Comneraville, » Postoffice, political affairs of the U. S. and of State of Indiana and a copy ‘of each paper printed in our city, Daily and Weekly. After requesting Chaptain C. A. Reman to ask a blessing Mr. Andre continued: ‘We now declare this corner-stone duly laid, and the building that is to ‘rise upon it, devoted to the principal and work of Odd Fellowship.” BRIEF HISTORY OF FAYETTE LODGE. Fayette Lodge, No. 31, 10, 0. F., was granted a charter July 11, an d which was signed by Job Eldridge, G. M . Oliver Dufour, D. G. M.; J. M. Silcox, W.; John B. Cheney, Guard; P. J. Brown, BP. G. M.; George Brown, Grand Representative; Schauf fer Colfax, D. D. G.M; B. F. Reed, W. M. French, M. Herndon, John Sait, FL Wymond, J.P. Chapman, Past Grands, and Laz Noble, Secre tary. The charter members were Henry FB. Kern, J. PF. Youse, Calvin Davis and Anthony Watt. On Monday, August 13, 1849, the lodge was instituted by Thomas Wil son, assisted by members from Wayne Lodge, No. 17, Cambridge City, and Harrison Lodge, No. 23, of Centre ville. The institution took place in the office of the White Water Canal Company, on Mearth street, now the property of S. W. Vance. The first set of officers were J. F. Youse, N.G ; Anthony Watt, V.i.; Calvin Davis, Secretary; H. J. Kern, Treasurer. Guttenburg Lodge, also of this city, was organized by Fayette Lodge, as was Everton and Harrison Lodge. The committee of the new building that is in course of construction is D. W. Andre, C. A. Rieman, Greenberg Woods, F. D. White, J. S. Leonard, A. H. Rieman, W H. Bertsch and A. Watt. The cost of construction is $14,196, and the cost of the lot, build ing apparatus, etc. will increase the same to about $22,000. The contrac tors are Louck Hill, of Richmond, and the building is to be completed by July 1, 1901. Among the contents of the box is the following list of city officials, churches, newspapers, etc. The City Government of Conners ville is now constituted January, 1901: Thomas J. Clark, Mayor; W. F.
