Helenan Pulled From Flaming Wreck in Critical ConditionA man tentatively identified as Winfield Dunlap, about 55, of Helena, was brought to Silver Bow General Hospital in critical condition following- a single-oar accident at about 2 p.m. Wednesday five miles north of the junction of U.S. Highway 10 and Montana Secondary 281 between Boulder and Whitehall.The man, identified by papers in his billfold, suffered a concussion and possible interna] injuries. An attending physician said the extent of his Injuries had not yet been determined, but said he was in somewhat critical condition.”Highway Patrolman Don Peterson said the accident occurred when Dunlap’s vehicle missed a curve, went off the road and rolled 500 feel. Pud in the car’s gas tank was ignited by the eras*. Dunlap was pulled from the flaming wreckage by a passing truck driver. Peterson estimated Dunlap was traveling about BO miles an hour when the car left the road.The truck driver, who left the scene soon after the injured man was transferred to an ambulance, was not identified. Peterson said Dunlap was apparently unconscious when putted from the car.Peterson reported Dunlap carried identification giving various addresses, including Franklin, Pa. and Helena. Attempts made Wednesday nighi to locate Dunlap's relatives were not successful.
