And at the same time you never knew' a fellow more tenacious in his battle for what he considers right.As resident of the 3outh side for many years Mr. McMorrow is well acquainted with the problems of hjs community. And as a competentEdward McMorrowstudent of just such problems he is well equipped to seek their solution.To describe the association he heads is the easiest way to show the range and effort of this man. He is president and moving spirit in the Chester Highland Improvement association which is interested in the territory from Halsted to Morgan between 79th and 83d streets, a district which it is the aim of the association to develop exclusively with residences and two-flats.This association wants to keep the property, streets, alleys and sidewalks clean, in good repair and well policed. They are striving specifically at the present time to have the alley between Halsted and Green streets leveled with cinders.Mr. McMorrow strives continuously ; to maintain the high standard which ; Chester Highlands at present enjoys.; His chosen task is working for the I community. And that happens to be ; his favorite sport, his favorite pas-I time and favorite avocation as well-Miss Martin, Deaf and Blind Pianist, to Play TomorrowWill Perform Under Auspices of Normal Park Baptist ChurchThe phenomena? deaf and blind pianist, Helen May Martin, w’hose recitals have amazed and enthralled j numerous audiences, will be heard in j a performance at the Normal Park J Baptist church, 70th st. and Stew'art ave., tomorrow' night at 8:15 o’clock.Miss Martin, blind from her youth, mastered the piano, and still learns her pieces by means of her acute sense of vibration. Her mother plays each selection over and over until the blind girl has learned it through, “getting the feel” of it by means of the vibrations.She is also in the habit of giving dramatic numbers, interpreting the words of her mother, who does the reading, by means of gestures and facial expressions.Admission will be 35 cents for adults and 20 cents for children.Sabina Players Set to Give ‘Nineteenth Hole*Three performances of the “Nineteenth Hole will be given by the Sabina players on the evenings of next Sunday, Monday and Tuesday at Sabina hall, 78th and Throop streets.
