This ie the Gest Carnivel ever held in Mocsomin, and those who attended it were not disap peinted, for their expectations were more than realised. The proprietors of the rink, hed, with laudable enterprin, engaged the services of our well-known local artit, Br. J..8 Mende, to represent om canvass the Polar Regione ty moonlight, and hu efrte were crowned with encom. Those present could not but admire the beautiful reprematation, which wee realiatic to design and ost. To with us wes run to accomedate them who de sired to patronize the Carnival. The skaters were pamarras, sad some of them displayed considerable skill om the tes. There was a fair sprinkling of ledice preent, @bich, ne doubt, helped to incomes thejoyment of the evening. Although the proprietors advertised this es sheet and pillow cam carnival, we saw that one present whe complied with the reguis itoms.
