ALAMO — Alejandro S. Rivera, 69, died Saturday, February 1, 2014 at his resi dence inn Jamo. Mr. Rivera was born in Hidalgo and had lived in Alamo all of his life. Alejan dro was an active member of Resurrection Catholic Church where he honored and worshiped the Heavenly Father. He was owner of Ri veras Trucking and worked at Valley Fruit as a fieldman for 40 years before retir ing from Coastal Fruit. He made many lifelong friends who he will always cherish. Mr. Rivera was a loving hus band, father, brother and took pride in his family. He will truly be missed by all. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alberto and Concepcion Rivera Sr.; two brothers, Errico and Silves tre Rivera; and two sisters, Flavia Quesada and Celedo nia Escobedo. Alejandro is survived by the love of his life of 48 years, Elisa Garcia Rivera; four children, Alejandro (Maria) Rivera Jr, Monica (Andres) Garza, Miguel (Catalina) Gutierrez and Saul (Aman da) Lopez; nine grandchil dren; five sisters, Monica R. Acosta, Ausencia Villarreal, Santos Salinas, Constancia Guerrero and Amelia “Mol ly Gallegos; one brother, Alberto (Maria) Rivera Jr., all of Alamo, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, Febru ary 3, 2014 at Memorial Fu neral Home in San Juan. Fu neral service will take place at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Febru ary 4, 2014 at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Alamo.
