By DENNIS COGSWELL Paw Paw Bureau PAW PAW — Two men received prison terms when they appeared in Van Buren circuit court for sentencing yesterday. Sentenced by acting Van Buren Circuit Court Judge Meyer Warshawsky to terms of two to four years were Albert G. Dietz, 23, Hartford, and Ken neth Wayne Slaughter, 22, Ban gor. Dietz had previously been convicted of charges of proba tion violation and larceny in a building, theft of goods from the Glendale Grocery in Waverly township on July 30, 1975. Slaughter had been previously convicted of a charge of larceny in a building, the theft of goods from the Bangors Fruit Exchange on Dec. 17, 1975. In other cases where sen tences were handed down, Dewel Wayne Hammit, 28, Rome, Ga., who had pleaded guilty to a charge of attempted breaking and entering of Melody Lanes bowling alley in South Haven township on Oct. 3, 1975, was put on probation for two years and assessed fines and costs of $200. Michael Stewart, 20, Portage, who had pleaded guilty to a charge of forging a welfare check, was put on probation for two years and assessed fines and costs of $200. Arraigned in circuit court were: ‘Edward Schoening, 59, Chicago, who pleaded guilty to a charge of attempted carrying of a concealed weapon on Navy 26, 1974, in Antwerp township. Sidney W. Dunning, 33, rural South Haven, pleaded guilty to a charge of attempted larceny in a building, a Covert township dwelling on Nov. 2, 1975. Leroy McKelker, 27, Oak Park, Ill, and Robert H. Brown, 22, Chicago, each pleaded in nocent to charges of carrying a concealed weapon in a car in Paw Paw township on Dec. 14, 1975. Floyd Clouse, 20, and Sher man Clouse Jr., 18, both of Hartford, each pleaded innocent to charges of breaking and en tering Burnette Packing in Keeler township on Jan. 8, 1976. Gary Mark Lawrence, 21, Pullman, pleaded innocent to a charge of felonious assault Jan. 8, 1976, in South Haven township, against Michael Yates. Thomas 0. Munson, 29, Ban gor, pleaded innocent to a charge of writing three non-suf ficient fund checks within 10 days, during September, 1975, in Lawrence. Dennis Lee Town, and Jeffrey A. Hose, both 19 and both of Kalamazoo, each pleaded in nocent to charges of resisting arrest in Mattawan on Dec. 30, 1975. Gregory Buskirk, 20, Elkhart, Ind., pleaded guilty to charges of unlawful use of an auto in Paw Paw on Jan. 13 of this year, and to larceny in a building from a Lawrence home on Nov. 16, 1973. Howard Jones, 62, South Haven, pleaded innocent to a charge of third degree criminal sexual conduct, (statuatory rape) of a 14-year-old girl in South Haven on Jan. 7, 1975. GAS TRUCK EXPLODES CHEBOYGAN, Mich.
