DORCHESTER DISTRICT The Harvard Improvement Association Forum will meet next Monday evening in Sarah Greenwood School Center, Har vard and Glenway sts. David D. Vaughan, professor of social service at Boston University, formerly a pastor of a church in Chicago, will speak on “Social Unrest and Proposed Remedies.”' W. W. Howe, principal of the Henry L. Mrs Catherine McGilvary we in charge. St Ann's Branch, L. C. B. A., will hold a whist party next Monday evening in Walnut Hall, Neponset, in aid of the fund. Mrs Helen Hogan is chairman, assisted by Mrs Catherine Lewis, Miss Annie Collins, Mrs Rose Glynn, Miss Sarah Lynch, Mrs Annie Mahoney, Mrs Catherine Riley and Mrs Walker. Freeman AreKenzie of 8 Bullard st was fined $20 in court this morning on a charge of neglecting to send his boy Richard to school. Attendance officer Sheehan told the court that the boy has missed 84 sessions in the George T. An gell School. Judge Churchill suspended the fine until July 1. Ladies’ Auxiliary to Mattapan Post, A. L., visited the State Hospital yester day in charge of Mrs Bertha Hazel, president; Mrs Ethel Lutz, vice presi dent, and Mrs Margaret Cullen, treas urer, and brought the patient a gifts and good cheer. The members will hold a “get-together” party next Monday even ing, to which members of the Cecil Fogg Post Auxiliary have been invited. A public entertainment and dance will be given by John Joseph O'Connell Council, A. A. R. L. R., tomorrow even ing in Walnut Hall, Neponset, to which all who are interested in the Irish move ment are invited. There will be promi nent speakers, America Lodge, I. C. O. F., will confer the initiatory degree tomorrow evening in Norfolk Hall, with Walter Clements, NG, presiding. Dr Frederick J. Bailey, chief medical inspector of the Health Department of the city, will give a talk on diphtheria at the Dorchester High School tomorrow evening. The talk will be along common sense lines so that parents my be helped to combat the disease. It will be part of a program of a free public community meeting arranged with the Health De partment and the Department of Ex tended Use of the Public Schools. The object of the meeting is to “promote everybody's good health. The program will include singing and motion pictures, Miss Margaret Higgins will preside as manager of the Dorchester Evening School Center, The Dorchester Branch of the Boston League of Women Voters, at its meet ing yesterday afternoon ‘at the High School Hall, listened to a talk on State control of county prisons by Warren F. Spaulding of the Prison Association, Saturday afternoon next a baby show will be held in the parish of the Church of the Holy Spirit, Mattapan, under the auspices of the Primary Mothers Club, as wilt Demin at 2:30 A joint meeting of all the organiza tions of All Saints’ Church parish, Ash mont, will take place tomorrow evening in the parish house. There will be brief topics of subjects of general interest, singing of hymns and general prepara tion for the coming of Lent, and Newton, Technical High School will hold a reunion tomorrow night under the auspices of the class of 1919, N. . H. The party will be held at Nut ting’s, in Waltham. The committee in charge of arrangements is as follows: Fred Manter, Leslie MacNeill, Alice Hoo ley, Thomas Green and Elmer Priest.
