BOY DIES FROM EFFECT OF SHOOTING.What wnfi alleged to he an accidental death from shooting occurred 26 miles west of Riverside lust Thursday, when Melvin Roberts, aged 16, son of Mrs. Ira Rond, died from the result of a bullet wound inflicted by his step-father, Ira Rond.Mr. Bond was sick and lying upon the bed and became angry at the boys because they were cjnarrellng In the house and Rond told them if they didn’t keep quiet he would punish them. Mrs. Rond cautioned him about mnking threats of any nature and he reached for his gun Which was on a shelf near the bed. The gun was discharged, shooting through the partition, but not hitting anyone.Then the boys and Mrs. Rond tried to take the gun away from him und the gun was accidently discharged, the bullet striking Roberts In the groin.The sheriff and coroner from Rurns w« re notified and they arrived Friday an Inouest was held and the Ju?y rendered a verdict of tnvolnutsrv manslaughter. Rond has not been arrested yet on account of being sick. Rond claims be was temporarily Insane at the time of the accident.
