BOY DIES FROM EFFECT OF SHOOTING.What was alleged to bo an accidental death from shooting occurred 25 iniloH west of Rtverslda last Thursday, when Melvin Roberts, aged 15, son of Mrs. Ira Rond, died from the result of a bullet wound Inflicted by his step-father, Ira Rond.JSr. Rond was sick and lying upon the bed and became angry at the boys because they were quarreling In the house and Rond told them If they didn’t keep quiet he would punish them. Mrs. Rond cautioned him about making threats of any nature and he reached for his gun which was on a shelf near the bod. The gun was discharged, shooting through the partition, but not hlttlug anyone.Then the boys and Mrs. Rond tried to take the gun away from him und the gun was accidently discharged, the bullet striking Roberts In the groin.The sheriff and coroner from Rurns wtre notified and they arrived Friday an innuest was held and the Ju?y rendered a verdict of tnvolUUU~T manslaughter Rond has not been arrested yet on account of being sick. Rond claims he was temporarily insane at the time of the accident.
