The Louisville Evansville Packet Co. have changed agents at Hawesville, W. H. Williams giving way to Frank Moore. Williams had been agent there for the past twenty years. This was brought about last fall when the wharf privilege was put up for sale to the highest bidder by the city counci. Moore bought the privilege for one year, pay ing $125 for it. Previous to that time Williams had been paying $20 a year for the previous twen ty years, here Sunday en route to Alton to view the ice-gorge. Misses Verona and Mary Lucas and May and Louise Perrot at tended church at St. Croix Sun day. Bertie Quinlin of Celina, Le roy Quinlin of Branchville and Henry Massey of Bandon called at Nick Lucas’ Sunday. W.S. Clutinger and T. Law rent called on Frank Galey at Branchville Monday. Mr. W. 38. Clutinger made a business trip to West Fork Tues day and to Branchville Satur day. Mr. Joe Saalman, teacher of school No. 13 has announced a spelling match for Tuesday even ing at his school if the weather is nice. Everybody invited, Mr. T. Laurent and Henry Es arey went to St. Croix to a shoot ing match Saturday. Elaine.
