The ball will have the leading society people of the three cities as patrons and will, without ijuestion eclipse any similar event which has ever occurred iu this vicinity.St. Luke’s hospital, for which the ball ‘p is to be given, is a most, deserving institution, with a most merciful object. Ab almost all uro nwure it is at tlse old Newcomb homestead, at Eighth and Brady streets, which is b-ing re arranged and fitted up for hospital purposes, and will soon be ready for occupancy except as to furnishing. That i; may be tints furnished and opened for use at the earliest possible' moment, this ball has been undertaken, and the list of names which is given below of those who have interested themselves, either as patrons or as members of committees, is evi-denco of the sympathy which is so generally felt for the. success of the project.The price of dancing tickets has been placed at $5, for a gentleman and two ladies aud including refreshments. The admission to the gallery will be $1 with 50 cents extra if supper is wanted. Tickets may bo had at Harrison’s pharmacy and will be iu demand.
