Corsered at Last.—From George Hurst—who has lately returned from ttah on account of the prising attentions of divers and sundry •' lewd fel-lows of the baser fort, as the Apostle of the •* Gentiles calls them—we learn that Duffy, Berry, Walsh And Bouck, the men who lubbnl Meyer Wise, uu the 28th of October, last, ware duly arrested, and that j the little shouting scrnpe that ensued between him and Duffy caused by the resistance of the latter. Mr. Thurmond, who apparently lun a monopoly of this kind of business, got him out on a writ ol baoeas I corpi^; but he has been re-arre?t*l by order of General Connor, who holds the four woi£hif»3 in durance vile at Camp Douglas. The scounJrels divided the gold dust, with yeast-powder cans, and Berry showed his share to Sergeant Mounk. offering him half, as a bribe for bis silence. The charm did not work, and the disciples of Burabbas came toSief. The thanks of this community are due to j ineral Connor, tor his uniformly upright, courteous j and obliging demeanor to our citizens, and for the valuable aid which he never fails to render to all of them that require it. The Gfneral is good of the Bort, and the sort good. George Hurst has also done his whole duty as an officer in this matter, and has proved himself a brave and reliable man.
