TRAVERSE CITY «UPD A trust company has obtained a court injunction barring the Internal Revenue Service from scrutinizing the bank records of a New Jersey man linked to an alleged child pornography ring the Traverse City Record-Fagle reported Wednesday The IRS has confirmed it subpoenaed the records of Adam Starchild of Kearny, N.J.. following disclosure a suit was filed in US District Court in Newark Tuesday by the Trust Company of the Virgin Islands Ltd The suit charges the government with failing to give Starchild proper notification that his financial records at the Mid-Lantic Bank of West Orange, NJ were to be seized Judge Vincent Bianno Tuesday ordered the IRS not to examine the records until the suit can be heard Starchild, also known as Malcolm McConahy, was identified by the Record Eagle last April as a founder of the Church of the New Revelation, Brother Paul's Childrens Mission, Ocean Living Institute and the Education Foundation for Youth All four organizations en joyed tax exempt Status as religious and charitable foundations but now are suspected of being fronts for the child pornography in dustry Starchild has been linked to several holding companies with which Ann Arbor millionaire Francis D Shelden was involved The Record-Eagle has reported that it was at Shelden's North Fox Island estate that the alleged child pornography activities were conducted Police were searching for Sheldon and Dyer Grossman of New York. Both fled Michigan a year ago, after police issued warrants for their arrest, charging them with criminal sexual conduct Starchild said he knew nothing of any child por nography activity and claimed Grossman used him and his organizations. He earlier said he had never met Shelden The Record-Fagle has reported that last December, however, that a man calling himself Starchild acted as Shelden's agent in the sale of his plane and a Little Love to All Your Friends! ballmark, Valentines Day is Tuesday.
