Joseph A. DepriestJoseph A. Depriest, son of John and Sarah Depriest, was born on a,farm in Green Briar County, West Virginia, Aug. 28, 1853. He departed this life Jan. 28, 1922, age 68 years and five moqths. He leaves to mourn their loss, the widow and follow-ingchildren: Mrs. W. E. Morgan, •of Chattaroy, west Virginia,Charles, william, Mrs. Otto wil-/ 1 ( son, Herschel A., Helen and|Pauline, all of this place, besides five grandchildren, other relatives and many friends to mourn their loss.During the Civil war, when he was about 12 years old, the family was driven from their home by the southern soldiers and took rpfuge in the state of Ohio.In/1879 be was united in marriage with Miss Florence Dever,Vin Lawrence County, Ohio. To this union eight children were born, seven of whom survive.Soon after their marriage they moved to J ackson, Ohio, where they lived until they moved tp Farmershurg, in the year 1909.May the Lord bless^the widow and children in this their hourot sorrow.-t'The funeral was- held at the Methodist church Tuesday afternoon at two o’clock, conduct* ed by Rev. M. H. Reynolds, Burial was at west Lawn.
