A week before be was to be executed Clovernor Williams granted Qulllle McConnell a reprieve until March 1 for a review oC the case. McConnell pleaded guilty to the murder of Sheriff George Arnold of Lincoin county, while the latter was trying to arrest him for the robbery of a store at (’handler, August 25, 1916. On his plea of guilty, Judg^ Charles B. Wilson, Jr., sentencf*d McC’onnell to dtiath. It is the Voulention of McCon-iieil’H attoriH'ya now that upon McCon-neil's pl(!a of guilty, the case should have been submitted to a jury to fix tt 0 punishment.
