Death of a Pioneer, Samuel Harrison, one of the pioneer citizens of this county, died at his home, near Milford, on Thursday night, at the age of eighty-nine. He served with credit in the war of 1812, and after wards carried on the grocery business for a long period on Main street, near Fifth, this city. After getting together a considerable fortune he em barked in the steamboat business and built the steamer Reaper, which proved a disastrous venture. Leaving the river, he was for some years agent for John Bates, manager of the old Columbia Theater. His wife and one daughter, the wife of Officer Jos. Ritter, survive him. The funeral will take place from his late residence on Sunday after noon.
