A belated Christmas present in the form of a telegram came to Mrs. Richard Danca and her son, Richard Joseph- They received word that Lt, Richard Danca is a prisoner of war in the Philippines. This is the first word received by Mrs. Danca about her husband since before the fall of Corregidor Lt. Danca was a member of the famous Maywood Tank Corps, and had been wound-ed in action in the early part of the campaign. He recovered and was agafjn in the thick of the fight during the siege of Bataan and later at Corregidor. His wife had no idea whether he was killed, wounded, or a prisoner, however, she kept faith and insisted that her husband was alive. Mon* day's telegram confirmed her faith, and there was great joy in the Danca household for it is most comforting to the Danca*a that “Daddy” is still alive even if he is a prisoner.Another local boy who is a prisoner of the Japs is Lt. Arthur A. Holland, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Holland who now reside at Hinsdale. Young Holland was well known here, having gone to r Proviso high school and badTank Corps about the time that Lt Danca became a member. His parents were proprietors of the Tree Value Hardware Store. Lt, Holland was reported a prisoner a Week before Christmas.c
