Groan the Airbrakes, 'Nev ermore,” as Albuquerque Prepares to Adopt Busses for Transportation One day more to live and then— no more. This is how the street cars go. Groaned ,the brakes beneath the floor—“never more.” And the bell clanged a tale of woe. Saturday is here. It's the last day. It's your last chance to ride on street cars in Albuquerque. It's New Years Eve. And it's the beginning of a new order of things in the way of city trans portation. The next day, naturally, is Sun day. It's the start of the New Year. And the busses will start at 6:30 o'clock, promptly in the morning. It'll be quite a new sensation for Albuquerqué—this riding in new-fangled busses. But it's here to stay, at least awhile. For the street car com pany is going to tear up its tracks. And, who knows? The old famil iar streets, perhaps will look a bit deserted. Off with the old and on with the new, with the coming of the mo tor cars, the motorettes will go. And the Jest vestige of the world war will have disappeared in Al buquerque.
