Madame Nevada at Indianapolis.Madame Emma Nevada, one of the greatest lyric singers of the present time, will be heard for a single performance on next Thursday -night, Jan. 2, at English's opera house, Indianapolis.Arrangements have been made with *all the railroads for very low round-trip rates on the day of Madame Nevada’s performance, so as to enable residents of adjacent towns and' villages to attend the concert of this incomparable singer. The fame of Madame Nevada is as wide as musical art. Her wonderful bird-like voice, with its exquisite quality and marvelous facility of execution, stands out j i alone among all other voices of the j t operatic stage. She is the last great 1 representative of the famous lyric J school which was glorified by the . *' genius of Jenny Lind, Giulia Grisi, Malibran and Ad^iina Patti. The coloratura artist represents the highest type of musical development and of vocalization. Madame Nevada, the American singer, is its greatest exponent and this opportunity of hearing her should not be missed. In her program Madame Nevada' will give selections from the famous Italian and French operas, the wonderful Bird Song of the Mysoli, from David’s “Le Perle du Bresil,” the Bell Song from ‘Lakme’, French Chansons, German Lieder and English Ballads. While giving an elaborate program herself, Madame Nevada does not seek to monopolize the performance, or capture all the honors. At every recital of hers there will be heard also, the celebrated Pablo Casals, formerly Court Yioloncelist to the Queen Spain; Leon Moreau, the eminent French pianist and composer, and Daniel Maquarre, the flute soloist of the Lamoureux and Colonne Orchestras of Paris. Every one of these artists is a celebrity in Europe and a famous master of his instrument. It is, without a doubt, the greatest company of concert stars that has ever been brought together for a tour of this country. The program offered on this occasion by Madame Nevada and her company is one of rare excellence and resembles a musical festival in length and diveisity of numbers. Seats can now he secured by mail.
