Ishmael Keithcame to the fall of ’68, and has Hyed hete con^ tihgously. He came here frbm Ohio where he had beeh eng^ed in faim-ing for several years. --He was born in. Georgia, but was ne ver in slavery j being in the agricultural: business in Ohio long before the emancipation proclamation was issued.; ^Mr. Keith leaves six ; children, two of whom live in this city, hfos. Jason B. Moore, and Green Keith, councilman from NorthLawrence. Another son : lives in Topeka: and two more work out of Chicago on one of the principal railroads. All have been summoned to this city by telegraph.Mr. Keith leaves property amounting in value to. somewhere between fifty and one hundred thousand/dollars. He was the most upright and honorable of citizens and a- man who commanded respect from all for his manliness. He was also a strong man intellectually and a shrewd financier as his success in business will attest. The deceased was a member of Western Star Lodge No. 1, which lodge will probably have charge of the funeral sendees.
