Wednesday, December 30, 1970Post Commander HummerHonored At Christmas PartyDaring a recent Christmas Party, VFW Post 8577 Commander Thurmond Hummer waspresented a lifetime membership to the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States.Hummer, known to alot of people throughout the VFW, National, State and local, as Mr. V.F.W, has been active in the VFW since 1949. Com-the charter on April 27, 1955. In 1954 Hummer came to Copperas Cove, Texas and organized VFW Post 8577, recievingno other post commander in the state lias ever acliieved.Hummer has maintained an Honor Roll Post since its organization.
