STIBLEY, TOWA — Nearly 300 relatives and friends gave a sur prise party for Mr. and Mrs. Peter Van Speren at the Christian Reformed church Friday evening in honor of their 23th wedding anniversary. Wir. and Mrs. Pete Runia left for Bettendorf, Iowa to spend the holidays with their parents, HH, Ricklets, Mr. and Ms. Anne Van Drie of Melvin accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Smits motored to Beill flower, Calif. to attend the fun eral of Mrs. Van Drie’s father, Mr. Bowma. Gradus De Jong of Orange City visited in the home of Anna Vogel and other rela tives. Mrs. Chas. Post is home from the Worthington hospital where she underwent an operation. Anna Vogel was a caller in the Chas. Oldenham home in Sioux Falls, 5. Dakota, Darlene Bootsma, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Bootsma was op erated on her hip at the Metho dist Hospital at Sioux City. Mr. Simaon Jacobsma was taken to Bethesda Sanitoriaum aft Den ver, Colorado to treatment. Mr. and Mrs. Isaac De Hamer left for Cedar Falls to visit with Mr. and Mrs. John McFadyn from there to Chicago a visit a broth er, Gillis De Hamer. On returning home a visit with another brother, Peter De Hammer of Holland, Mich. and also a visit with a brother-in-law and sister, Mr. ad Mrs. Jacob Post. Robert Prince of Iowa City medical school is spending the holidays with’ his’ parents, Rev. and W. Prince.
