Council Meets. In Session of Rou tine Matters Last Evening Equipment Ordered While it was not officially a matter of record of the city coun cil in their meeting last night, it was reported this morning by one of the members of the body that the new ornamental light ing system which parral hlls both sides of Corgna’s famous three mile circle boulevard would be in use on the first of the year. Everything is in readiness for the throwing of the switch which would make the circle a splendid ly lighted therefore. The new rates of the Southern Sierras Power company will go into ef fect on January 1st, and under the reduced rates as provided by the new schedule, the lighting costs including those of the cir cle boulevard will be no higher than at present. At the meeting of the council last evening routine matters oc cupied the attention of all mem bers of the council who were present. The request of F. A. Healy to improve the parking in front of his property on Main street was granted. Mabel Free man asked permission to cut down certain trees on her Hast Sixth Street property and this re quest was referred to the city committee. Communication from the Mar cherite corporation, makers of the ornamental lighting posts, re garding insurance on the posts was referred to the city com mittee.
