——-♦+♦-----EMANCIPATION DAY.At a meeting of the Committee* on the Celebration of January 1st, 1872, the following programme was adopted:Procession w ill form at the Vermont StreetChurch at 10 o'clock a. m. All orders and societies are requested to be promptly on the ground at the hour designated. After marching through the principal streets the procession w ill return to the c hurch, and the following exercises will be held:1. Prayer, Rev. N. Mitchum.2. Music.8, Reading the Emancipation Proclamation, W. H. Fuller.4. Oration, Rev. R. Bridges.Followed by short speeches by J. 8. Hinton, 8. A. Elbert, A. J. Bell, Daniel Pearson, and thers.Ofticers of the Day—President, Rev. Moses Broyles; Vice President, Daniel Pearson; Chaplain, X, Mitchum; Header Em. Proe., W. II. Fuller; Marshall, Joseph Barrett.Line of march from Vermont, on Columbia to Michigan street, east on Michigan to East, south on East to Washington, west on Washington to Illinois, north on Illinois to Indiana avenue to the churches on Michigan and Vermont streets.
