Frank Puntigan, 52, the St James-Assiniboia bricklayer accused of slaying his wife and burying her in a rock garden, will appear next Monday in St. James - Assiniboia magistrate’s court. A preliminary hearing into the non-capital murder charge will be heard at that time. It will determine if there is sufficient evidence against Mr. Puntigan to put him on trial. The hearing, originally scheduled for today, has been put over one week. “Mr. Puntigan was charged after the body of his wife Hilda was discovered Nov. 8 buried in a rock garden near the couple's 460 Olive Street home in St. James-Assiniboia.
