The new year begins, too, with g new hospital set-up for Lavaca County and notably Hall-ettsville since other major j towns in the county already have their own hospitals. A Board of Trustees will now sup- j i ervise the hospital administrative work. The Renger family now observing its 60th anniversary of medical practice, agreed place the hospital supervision in the hands of this new organization, to be operated non-profit.* ★ ★Thoughts go back, too. to the days of country doctors on horseback and buggy if trails permitted passage of the latter, to Grandma’s days and her tales j of cure for tnose incurable maladies afflicting our pioneers. Such was the praise of the senior Dr. Renger and his practice. One must recall the present generation, too, and the supply of babbits it required to keep the laboratory in operation as medicine was budding into its present tage of miracle drugs and an-i-biotics.
