soTtVarchISt!Library Association Makes Progressive MoveThe Eustis Public Library Association on Tuesday afternoon made a forward stride when they voted unanimously to transfer all of their holdings to the city of Eustis, in order that the library would have a sufficient income, derived through taxation for that vv specific purpose.It is wonderful the results that have been obtained, the prog-1 ress made, by the Library Board, under the old regime and sys-l tem of getting funds wherever and whenever they could, to carry!pi on this absolutely necessary educational work of the community, jal Every man and woman who has contributed effort or money in Jl this work so far is entitled to the highest praise, and it was the decision of these people, who have borne the brunt of the finano, ing of this institution, that the city should take over the property and adequately finance the operation of a real public library in Eustis. It is almost inconceivable that they have accomplished so much, erected such a beautiful and commodious building, with ' so little means.The people of Eustis, sponsored by the city council, should now say to these faithful workers, “Well done, thou good and faithful servants,” and relieve them of the burden.The Lake Region believes that the City Council will endorse '•Iand promote this action, and rush it to a successful, useful u.n- j] elusion.The Lake Region also wishes to congratulate the association , upon the election of O. K. Cole, a splendid citizen, able business man and a known worker, as the head of this association. Mr. f Cole is a real Eustis doer, though a citizen of this city for only a « few years. Mrs. Palmer took the place of secretary under protest, due to the absence of Miss Bishop, the time of whose sojourn ■«* fout of the city is unknown. Miss Smith was re-elected treasurer as a recognition of her efficient and faithful service. Other splen- a did additions to the executive committee were Mrs. J. J. Erwin a and Dr. D. T.
