Work That Every Farmer Can Do C ome on Rainy Days. Anyone at all ingenious can mal brooms for home use. Let the static one at brush enough for the number o brooms to be made in water and heavy it for an hour or two. When softener gather enough for a broom, putting the largest and best stalks on the outside Frow the ceiling of the room suspend a strong cord. Wind this two or thre times about the brush, attach the othe end to a treadle hinged to the wall, and with the foot increase the pressure, at the same time rolling the brush some times to shape it. Wind thi eads with cord, beginning at the lewer of broom end. Place the pressure cart close to the brush and wind the twin below this, moving the former up a needed. To make the broom flat, prow it between two narrow boards Tastened together at one end with a strong leath er hinge, or it may be placed between two boards and screwed into a vice WINDING BROOMS. Three of four inches below the winding card, wind word once or twice, draw it close and tie firmly leaving enough o ne end to new with.
