Funeral services for RachelVan Horn Raikes, age 100,whose death occured at TaborManor, Dec. 18, were held atthe Crawford-Reeves Funeral*Home Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. She joined the Christian church and was baptized in the Missouri River during the month of January.• In 1900 she was married to William Van Horn and for more than 40 years she was a busy farm wife, assisting her husband in farming operation until his death in 1943.To this union six sons were born, Fred, Dan, Sidney, Everett, Jess and Hubert.Practically her entire life was spent in the Bartlett area, until nearly two years ago when she moved to the Tabor Manor.Last June, she was compli .......mented on her 100th birthday when her sons and their families entertained at “Open House” at Tabor Manor.Survivors include, 2 sons, Sidney of Tabor and Hubert of Bartlett; 6 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.Memorials are suggested for the Tabor Ambulance Fund,Chapter GG, PEO met at the home of Mrs. Ward Slothower last Tuesday evening. Mrs. L. M. Spencer, president, conducted the business meeting, followed by the program, “Happiness is Sharing the Christmas Story” given by Mrs. Stan Weatherhead.On Jan. 17 the chapter will meet with Mrs. E. G. Newlon.Twenty-three Senior Citizens met at Valley View recreation hall Tuesday noon for a potluck dinner and Christmas party.The president Mrs. Hazel Surface conducted the business meeting when committee reports were given. The story “The Other Wisemen” wasread by Mrs. Thelma Surface.Pitch furnished entertainment for the afternoon.
