Highway Re-Established. The Highway Commission at Aus tria last week heard the application of delegates from Smith and Rusk coun ties for a final decision of Highway No. 64, which is to be called Wood row Wilson Highway. The ‘Tyler Courier-Times since then says the re quest was granted, requesting that the route be built as originally planned, No. 64 as shown on the Highway map extending from Wills Point to Tyler by way of Canton, and thence to Arp, Henderson, Carthage and Shreveport. The Tyler paper says the building of Highway No. 64 will serve from 50,000 to 75,000 people who are not now served by a highway and it will open up a section of country east of Tylep that has no outlet east or west. The highway is to be of the same type as the Jim Hoge Highway, and the sum of $80,000 has already been apportioned from the Federal High way to be used for that purpose. Ninety-five automobiles were regis tered in Van Zandt county from the 15th of October until the lth of this month. While most of the machines were of a popular priced make, yet the amount of money involved goes away over the half million mark. Surely this is one evidence of pros perity, when this much money can be diverted from all other purposes and devoted to cars propelled on their own power. The automobile industry has grown to such proportions throughout the country that it is crowding the head of the list, nnt as yet the building of good roads is in its infancy. When there is network of good roads all over the country, cars will be more and more in de mand, until finally the individual who does not own one of the things will be an exception. Seek me when in need of monu ments, anything in granite or marble, from the biggest company in Texas. —W. S. Mills, Cantona,Texas, 45tf
