OBITUARY.John Wheeler Rickord.On Sunday, December 24, 1916, at the home of a granddaughter, Mrs. Martin Furstin, at Germania, occurred the death of John Wheeler Rickord, who was born in Clinton, Iowa, on February. 29, 1852. The funeral occurred on Tuesday afternoon from the home of PI. E. Elerding, a few miles distant from Eidora, and in the Shepherd chapel. The services were conducted by Rev. W. E. Stanley, pastor of the Baptist church of El- | dora. Burial was made in the nearby j cemetery there.John Wheeler Rickord was born at Clinton, Iowa, February 29, 1852. lie was married March 12, 1872, to Miss Emma Elerding, daughter of the late Wm, Elerding. There were nine children born of this union, of whom two died in infancy. The living are:S. W. Rickord, Sioux City, Iowa; Mrs. M. J. Lepley, Bancroft, Iowa; W. E. Rickord, Jamestown, N. D.; Mrs. J.A. Johnson, Buffalo Center, Iowa; Mrs. J. A. Pink and Mrs. J. E. Smith of Germania, Iowa, and Miss Mary Rickord of Eidora. Mrs. Rickord died March 26, 1891. On February 6, 1913, Mr. Rickord was married to Mrs. Claudia Cairnes of Springfield, 111., who survives him. He also leaves to mourn his loss two sisters, Mrs. J.E, Rowen of Marshalltown, and Mrs.C. Kidder of Springfield, III., and j thirteen grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Pie made his home at Decatur, 111.Mr. Rickord made a confession of the Christian faith before his death.
