W. H. Davis, of Davisville, was in the city several days the latter part of the past week, getting ready for the holidays.Terry's Uncle Tom's Cabin which will appear in this city shortly, is the best “Tom” company traveling in the west. This organization has some 35 people,scenery, the best ever, horses, mules and blood hounds and the attraction will be one of the good things that are coming after the first of the year. All the papers give the Terry people exceptionally fine notices.The East Lynne company which played that popular, though old play on Monday evening and “My Wise Uncle4’ on Tuesday evening, made a decided hit in the city. The house was packed on both ac-casions and the management of the company deserved it. Their plays were clean and free from allvulgarities, and the specialties were also strictly first class. The songs were unquestionablythe best ever heard in the city, and on the whole the attraction was an unusually good one.
