The participants in the scene were a man from Madison, Wis., giving his name as Sutton, his wife and daughter and a Madison ofti-cer. The daughter, it seems, left her home some months ago, and it was not until a day or so that her parents learned where she was. As soon as they discovered where their erring daughter was located they boarded a westward bound train and came here. They arrived yesterday and, with the officer, started at once for the house. As they entered, the girl, who has been known by the name of Marion Field while here, saw them, and, uttering a scream, fainted away. Matters were soon explained to the proprietress, who sent all the other girls to their rooms. As soon as Marion revived she broke down completely, but refused to return with her parents. The anguish of the mother was terrible to behold. She threw herself on her knees at the feet of her daughter aud, with tears streaming dowu her face,BEGGED HER TO GO BACK WITH THEM.Her continued refusal angered her father, and at last he orderftd his wife to stand back and let the girl alone. Then he drew a revolver from his pocked, and, advancing to the now pale girl, grasped her by the shoulder and said:“Now, miss, you have acted this part long enough. You are going back home with me dead or alive, and you can just make up vour mind to that now. Will you go willingly?”The girl looked at her mother for a moment and then answered that she would not. “Then die,” shouted the father, as he cocked the revolver and placed it at her head. Before he could pull the trigger the detective had taken the gun from him and led him to a seat. The mother had another talk with the girl, and as a result all four will return to their Wisconsin home to-day. Mr. Sutton is a well-to-do business man, aud has two other daughters beside the oue that lias been in Minneapolis. Marion, as she cailed herself, was somewhat inclined to be wild, so her father said, aud last fall left the city in company with a traveling man, who deserted her in October. Since then the girl has been living on First street, where she has had many admirers 011 account of her beauty aud intelligence. The Frank! windo' at $30. In e*iD.
