I-Amumption Items.—The Pioneer of Sunday Iasi has the following:On Friday last, a while man and a negro were arrested in ou^illige and lodged in jail. The negro says he belongs to the Hon. Marcel Uucros, living below New Orleans, and I hat the man with whom he was arrested, had promised to take him into a free State, and there set him free.We would caution our planters to be on the look out for such characters.The negro boy John, belonging to Mr.F. Robichaux, of this parish, accused of participating in an insurrection, said to be preparing among the blacks of this parish,; t was tried on Friday last and sentenced to, ^ two months imprisonment in the Parish! i Jail, and during the time of his imprison-!® men! to receive three hundred and fifty 11 lashes; afterwards to wear irons lor the r space of two years.n: -------
