O. O.F., held on the Blst ult., the following preamble and resolutions were unanimously adopted:Time speeds on, and death does his work relentlessly as of yore. “No changes of season or place'*’ can divert his course in his onward inarch, or change his., fell purposes, as he stretches out his cold arm and selects his victims from among the lt;?ld and venerable, the responsible and Care-covered of the middle age, and the loved and beautiful of earth. We would not call this a world where all is dark, miserable and drear! No; for while there is so much of misanthropy here, as to but too trnely denominate this a “cold, cold world/' yet there are ever and anon breasts, in which arc lodged and abound feelings and principles pure and kind, which rise up faithfully along life’s stormy pilgrimage, diffusing from their brief experience, a halcyon hope-light o’er its ocean wave, and sending far and numerous streams of comfort from every point of their earthly occupancy. Yes, thank heaven, there sympathetic and philanthropic hearts on earth, which are as so j $ many delightful breaks of sweet calm sunshine upon a storm-cursed world.Such traits pre-eminently entered into the character of William. W.Conway, and. hence, he was the dutiful son, the affectionate brother, the faithful friend, the polite gentleman, the generous philanthropist, and a true Odd Fellow; and in his untimely death, it may be justly said, “a prince and a great man is fallen.” ThereforeResolved, That this Lodge recognize in the life of brother Wm. W.
